Information
and Gear we Recommend for Back Country Hunting
The following is a list of gear and other information
that will be helpful as you prepare for your hunt.
We do
not provide personal gear! Bring what you need to be comfortable,
but limit your gear to two duffel bags, (not including your
sleeping bag or pad). Do NOT stuff all of your gear into one
oversized duffel! if you arrive with one, gigantic overweight
duffel, you will be asked to repack, this makes it difficult
to pack the mules! It is best to use 2 bags (maximum weight
35 lbs per bag).
Hunting
and Personal Gear we Recommend:
Rifle: sight-in your rifle at about 150-200 yards before your
trip. We provide scabbards, please no oversized rifles scopes,
they won't fit into our scabbards.
400 square inches of international orange (NOT camouflage
orange).
Hunting License
Knife
Binoculars
Flashlight
Small first aid kit
Sleeping bag (rated to -10f) small sleeping pad and pillow,
we provide cots
Filtered water bottle (optional.... to date we have never
had a problem drinking directly out of the streams. Due to
excess weight we do not pack in bottled water or sports drinks.)
Bring clothes for all kinds of weather
Small day pack (should not exceed 5 lbs for on your horse)
Alcohol - we do not provide it, but we will pack it in
Please,
try to get yourself in the best physical condition possible!
This will increase your chances for a successful hunt and
make for a much more enjoyable hunt. Be prepared to do some
horseback riding and hiking. Don't forget about the elevation.
Please
tip guides and cooks separately.
During
the summer months I am mostly out in the field so it may be
a bit hard to reach me. Please leave a message and I will
answer your call as soon as possible.
